Kate Greene was born in 1978 in Boston, Massachusetts. She received a BFA in photography from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2008 and an MFA in photography from Yale School of Art in 2010 where she was the recipient of the Tierney Fellowship. Her work has been exhibited in New York, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles and is a part of several private collections. Her most recent series, Anomalous Phenomena, was included in the 2011 New York Photo Festival and will be featured in the Noorderlicht Photofestival 2012, Terra Cognita, at the Museum Drachten in the Netherlands.
Samantha Contis received her MFA from Yale University in 2008 and BFA in Photography and Art History from New York University in 2004. Her work has been included in recent exhibitions at Smack Mellon (NYC), Newspace Center for Photography (Portland) and Workspace (Los Angeles). Her photographs have been published in numerous publications including The New York Times Magazine, Capricious, Nomenus Quarterly and T. She is a recipient of the Tierney Fellowship and is currently at work on her first book. Contis lives and works in New York City.
Aperture Foundation is participating in Artlog‘s Chelsea Art Crawl 2011. The evening will feature after-hours access to a mix of Chelsea’s galleries and non-profit spaces. In addition to touring the exhibitions, guests will be able to attend exclusive artist talks and curator tours. The Chelsea Art Museum hosts the after-party where fellow art lovers can mingle and enjoy free drinks and music.
