Txema Yeste, 1972, Spain, is a fashion photographer based in Barcelona, Spain. His career started as a reporter after completing his photographic studies in Barcelona and Birmingham. He was traveling the world shooting images for newspapers like El Pais. He sees this period as very helpful for the photography he does today. His editorial fashion shoots have a narrative quality, build up of story-telling images. This is reflected in the titles given to the series as Spy in Nice, A Summer Waisting or Beyond Love and Evil. Txema is known for his sophisticated style, his experimentations, surrealism and graphic expression. His work has appeared in numerous magazines as Harper’s Bazaar, V Magazine and Vogue. Greg Manis, 1975, is an American photographer who studied at the Savannah College of Art & Design. After completing his studies he moved to New York City to assist top photographers as Tom Munro and others. Although often named a “fashion” photographer, he considers himself to be a fine art photographer. He takes portraits of the girls that remind him of his childhood while growing up in a trailer park in Northwest Georgia with his family. His interest lies in the sexy, tough girls he was once afraid to approach yet longed to be with. His work is raw, playful, edgy and gives the viewer a glimpse into Manis’ life. Photographer #345: Zach Gold

Zach Gold, 1972, USA, is a fashion and commercial photographer and film director. He studied at the Parsons School of Design and graduated in 1995. In various of his shoots he freezes an intruiging moment of people in battle, falling or dodging flying powder. He collaborated with the dance company Gallim Dance and choreographer Andrea Miller. The video and photographs of semi naked dancers in a pool of milk is alienating yet breathtaking. The images hold a certain suspense, but due to the very sharp detail they have become quiet and elegant scenes. He has photographed numerous celebrities including David Bowie, 50 Cent and Willem Dafoe and worked for clients as Nike, Sony and K-Swiss. Finlay MacKay, 1973, UK, is a Scottish commercial and editorial photographer. He studied Fine Art photography at the Glasgow School of Art. In 2002, after having assisted various photographers in London, he began working for himself. He has done commercial shoots for a large number of major brands as Diesel, Virgin Atlantic and Absolut. Finlay also works with athletes and does photo shootings for Nike, Adidas and Umbro. He has done a lot of editorial work for the New York Times Magazine and in 2009 he became a lead photographer for Time Magazine. Photographer #308: Jake Verzosa

Jake Verzosa, 1979, Republic of the Philippines, is a succesful commercial and editorial photographer based in Manila. Amongst his clients are McDonalds and Nike. Due to these commisions he has been able to travel around Southeast Asia and work on his personal, documentary photography. Recently he has photographed elderly women in the Cordillera mountain range of the Philippines. They are the last women that have the traditional tattoos that hold values of women’s strength and fortitude. Due to the influence of western interpretations of aesthetics the perception of beauty has changed amongst the younger generation. Earlier, during his travels, he was already photographing various indigenous peoples throughout Southeast Asia, resulting in the project Communal Identity. The following images come from the series The Last Tattooed Women of Kalinga, Manila’s Railside and Communal Identity.
