Rachelle Mozman grew up in New York City, and New Jersey and currently makes work between Brooklyn and Central America. As an artist working in photography and video her practice intersects document and narrative tendencies. Mozman is fascinated with ideas of ethnography and her work engages themes around family, class and gender divides. In 2012 Mozman will exhibit Casa de Mujeres at Catherine Edelman Gallery. In 2012 she was awarded an AIR at The Camera Club of New York. In 2011 Mozman participated in The (S) Files Biennial at El Museo del Barrio, she received a Lens Culture 2nd Prize Award and was an AIR at Smack Mellon. In 2010 Mozman exhibited her series Costa del Este through En Foco’s Traveling Exhibition program and she participated in 31 Women in Art Photography. A selection of photographs from her Costa del Este series were published in the Light Work annual Contact Sheet as well as Humble Foundation’s, The Collectors Guide to New Art Photography Vol. 2. She is a Fulbright Fellow and her work has been exhibited nationally and abroad. She lives with her husband, musician Caito Sanchez, their son, and cat.

Sophie T. Lvoff was born in 1986 in New York and received her BFA in photography and imaging, and philosophy from New York University. Exhibitions of her photographs have been shown in galleries and museums in the United States and Europe, including Institut d'Art Contemporain in Villeurbanne, France; Musée de l'Elysée in Lausanne, Switzerland; The Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans; Grand Central Terminal in New York; the Aperture Foundation in New York; Art Miami; and Arthur Roger Gallery in New Orleans. Lvoff has also curated a number of group exhibitions in New York and New Orleans. She is a member of Good Children Gallery, a collective gallery in New Orleans that is currently participating in St. Claude Satellites, a satellite exhibition program during Prospect.2. She is an MFA candidate in Studio Arts at Tulane University.

Alec Soth: Portraits – Portraiture

In October of 2004, photographer Alec Soth went on assignment for LIFE magazine to capture weekend soldiers at an Airsoft military simulation in Joelton, Tennessee. dryer repair marietta . In anticipation of his upcoming Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program exhibition, filmmaker Mike Dust traveled alongside Soth for this three-day excursion, interviewing and shooting alongside him as he worked to capture images for, both the magazine shoot as well as for his personal work. A number of these photographs (Odessa, Joelton, Tennessee, 2004 and Josh, Joelton, Tennessee, 2004) became part of the exhibition Alec Soth: Portraits at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts the following spring.
