Statement

The body of my work is to translate my experience examining symbolic and emotional potential of places and situations and their mutual interactions.

When I take photographs it’s like capturing a contemplation feeling.. a personal exploration of the reality around me. Sometimes I travel to remote places, sometimes I track down situations near my home.. My vision is a personal way to reflecting my place in the world.

I’m born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentine. The contact with the nature worl was walk though the park. Always I felt the feeling, the need for a more intimate contact with nature.

To meet my needs of contact with nature I travel a lot of times to natural places and dreamed of living more close to nature one day. Years ago I decided to move to Riviera dei Fiori Italia, in a small town in front of the sea.

Living closer to nature was a new feeling. I started to research literature in relation with contemplation of nature and discovered the Romanticism. Like the romantics I’m curious to the romantic landscape experience: “Sublime” a reunion with the spiritual self through the contemplation of nature. Obvious the romanticism has contemporary ecological implications in the space between the human and its relationship with nature.

At the same time I started making photographs I felt inspired in Oriental philosophy’s like Zen or Taoism. I think this point of view influences the body of my work. One of the basic concepts that inspired me is the abstract idea to “Impermanent”. The term expresses the Buddhist notion that all of conditioned existence, without exception, is in a constant state of flux, in continuous movement and transformation.

The Buddhist philosophy speaks about natural impermanence. Our world has evolved over millions of years and continues to evolve. At one time the human, as part of the universe, and in the name of progress is forced to change drastically and irreversible.

Exploring the landscape in relationship between the human it’s able to focus on the fragility of the nature and the impermanence of our universe.

I interest on mystery. I think life itself is founded in mystery. Existence is a mystery.

Taking photographs in the night of landscapes or urban landscapes is one way to represent this concept. I’m interested in the transformation of landscape after dark. Deep into the night capturing the natural tension of the dark, simultaneously poetic and seductive.

Photography and night have a peculiar relationship: the time. Accurate measure of time is critical for a successful exposition in low light exposure. Some of my night photographs are made in more than 45 minutes of exposition. This technique shows and temporary invisible world we only see trough the camera who reveal a mysterious and lyrical atmosphere.
