Farewell: MOPLA 2011

Month of Photography Los Angeles (MOPLA) completed April 30th with our final Pro’jekt LA series and an exhibition of student work from SNAPSHOP! photography workshops for at-risk youth.

A whirlwind of photography exhibitions, projections, and lectures took hold of Los Angeles in April and we can’t wait to do it all again next year. Our third year has been a success as we’ve expanded MOPLA programming even more to stimulate the photography community in Los Angeles and provide a comprehensive listing of events/exhibitions throughout the month.

This year we hosted our first annual benefit for SNAPSHOP!, presented lectures by master photographers Albert Watson, Richard Misrach and Melvin Sokolsy, co-curated the Smashbox + MOPLA group show, put on the PDN 30 exhibition with Clark|Oshin Gallery, and coordinated our Fresh Look portfolio reviews. And that’s only a sampling out of approximately 50 official MOPLA events in April.

Thank you to all that participated this past month. family law lawyer . Together we’ve cultivated a rich community of photography in Los Angeles. See you all next year!
